AV Assistant Editor

Position Objective:
This is an entry-level position that offers real-world video production training and opportunities for advancement in the Audio/Visual (A/V) Department. The A/V Assistant Editor supports the department's workflows and edits videos for the organization and its supported affiliates.
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Handle video file conversions, web links, and digital encode requests
• Create edits based on requests from the organization and its supported affiliates
• Create effects, titles, and other graphics
• Edit audio levels and mix audio tracks
• Assist rest of editing team with digitization and management of video files, including, but not limited to, syncing of footage, archiving, importing and exporting
• Assist with local video and photo shoots
• Produce preview links for videos and assemble breakdowns for edits
• Abide by organization's legal guidelines regarding video production
• Archive and upload raw and master files within the audio/visual database and server
• Assist with A/V functions during PETA and PETA Foundation events
• Perform clerical duties for the department
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor
Position Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in film production or relevant experience; at least one year of professional experience is a plus
• Video editing experience with Adobe Premiere Pro
• Familiarity with industrial-grade video and photo equipment
• Proven excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proven ability to deal professionally with staff members and the public
• Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in a professional manner
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
