NTT DATA's Client is seeking an experienced and versatile Technical Writer with 5 years of experience to join their team of technical writers who create, revise, and improve the client's user documentation and workflows. This individual writes, edits, and organizes complex technical information for operations personnel. In addition, the ideal candidate will serve on technical documentation projects, represent the department at meetings, and support other teammates as needed. The ideal candidate enjoys the challenge of working closely with team members from many disciplines and continually striving to improve the quality of our product documentation. The ability to work independently is essential, and must have previous experience interacting with technical subject matter experts and management personnel to identify documentation needs, and create relevant documents quickly and accurately, and make modifications as necessary. Must be able to navigate the challenges in a fast-paced environment. In these roles you will be responsible for: Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, publishing, and maintenance of technical documents including user documentation, online help, reference manuals, and Q&A and testing technical publications Attend project planning and development meetings. Write and edit technical documentation for assigned project's configuration, policies, procedures, and workflows, simple to complex in nature Gather technical information from clients, including technical subject matter experts, business partners, and other project team members Participate with the project team in the planning and testing phases of new software releases/updates and workflows Work with subject matter experts and trainers to edit and update workflows and related training reference materials Schedule and manage tasks and approval workflows to meet project deadlines Maintain a current internal documentation library Generate reports on requests received, work-in progress, and completed assignments for maximum transparency and workload management Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audience Coordinate layout and design of documents Work on all phases of documentation Follow client style, business guidelines, and department standards in using approved templates and tools Requirements for this role include: Bachelor's degree in English, journalism, communications, or similar discipline 5 years of writing technical documentation or equivalent experience Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills Knowledge of technical writing principles, including topic-based writing and workflows Experience delivering content through a variety of methods including web portals, online help, and print technical guides Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, subject matter experts, and management, and proactively communicate questions and needs Self-motivated and detail oriented Strong time management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects with various priorities and deadlines Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment Ability to create and maintain spreadsheets using MS Excel Strong knowledge of documentation tools and systems, also stays current on new technologies in documentation and industry best practices Optional (nice-to-have's) Certificate in technical writing Experience working in SharePoint Working knowledge of XML Editor Working knowledge of HTML and CSS Experience and working knowledge of UNIX-based platforms NTT DATA Services is a leading IT services provider and global innovation partner with 130,000 professionals based in over 50 countries.
