. As a member of our dynamic group, you will be involved in preparing, editing, reviewing, and publishing large, multi-volume technical reports and documents in a manner that meets our very high report quality standards. The successful candidate will be a highly organized, dedicated problem-solver with an extraordinary eye for detail and a passion for high-quality technical publications.
Editing report text (i.e., copy, stylistic, and substantive) to the highest standards of accuracy, and in accordance with our house style.
Editing material in a timely manner according to the timescales of the internal clients and overall project.
Summarizing technical and scientific documents in plain language.
Adopting custom, project-specific style requirements, and ensuring these requirements are consistently applied.
Assembling, compiling, checking, and managing citations and references to external documents, ensuring all citation and reference information is present.
Compiling and maintaining accurate acronyms and abbreviations lists as needed.
Working with authors to resolve content-related problems in a timely manner.
Managing competing demands from multiple deadlines and project.
Formatting and publishing documents from Word to PDF, in accordance with our exacting formatting standards.
5 years’ comprehensive experience editing technical documents, using a range of editing approaches, including proofreading, substantive and stylistic editing, and summarizing and re-writing.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word (expert), Microsoft Excel, Adobe Acrobat. Familiarity with EndNote is an asset.
Previous experience working in a professional services or consulting firm preferred.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) strongly preferred.
Flexible attitude and willingness to work overtime when needed.
Ability to work under pressure, juggling multiple deadlines and managing time effectively while maintaining an attitude of cooperation and flexibility.
