Description We are seeking a dynamic and motivated science editor to work with a team of editors, designers, social media managers and content publishing experts on behalf of our major science and technology clients. This person will work with internal team members to execute a comprehensive editorial content strategy from ideation and creation through flawless execution.\u00a0 \u00a0 An ideal candidate will have not only a passion of producing engaging content on tight deadlines, but also have a deep understanding of the tools, platforms, and technologies to get it done. We\u2019re looking for someone in tune with emerging trends within digital and social media, as well as understand the broader cultural shift in publishing and content marketing. What you\u2019ll do: Research, write and edit scientific features for a wide variety of audiences including scientists, doctors, investors and policy makers. Conduct interviews with scientists, physicians, patients and other healthcare stakeholders. Shape editorial calendars for website and social properties. Oversee freelancers and multimedia content contributors. Manage analytics and measurement reports for published content. Create and maintain style guides for tone and voice. Provide content syndication support and direction. Collaborate with clients to develop storytelling campaigns. Develop content strategies for a wider range of pharma\/healthcare\/corporate\/B2B\/tech clients including content audits and channel planning. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree Have at least 5-7 years\u2019 experience creating science\/healthcare-focused content at an online publishing company or traditional publisher with an extensive online presence. Additional qualifications: Bring a passion for all stages of storytelling, from ideation to measurement. Be a strong hands-on, rubber-meets-road type that can organize and operate multi-faceted programs across websites and social channels. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal team members across multiple levels Possess a knowledge of multimedia storytelling through GIFS, video, infographics and other emerging social media platforms and assets. Demonstrate expertise in web publishing: from structuring a website for organization of content to overseeing an editorial staff; from editing copy to training junior team members on content management and content publishing platforms (WordPress, Expression Engine, etc.) Weber Shandwick is proud to be an Equal Opportunity\/Affirmative Action employer.
