Macmillan Learning is currently offering a paid internship opportunity for fall 2019. Interns will be provided with the opportunity to participate in work related assignments, gain practical work experience, and network with employees from various departments. The Macmillan Learning Internship Program is available for students currently enrolled in a college or university or recent graduates within the past 3 months.
The Media Editorial Intern for Social Sciences will assist the media editors in procuring, evaluating, and preparing content for posting in LaunchPad (the Macmillan Learning platform). This includes a range of content from assessment to videos to interactive activities and the intern will have the opportunity to be a part of the process that transforms content from an idea to a complete product online. The Media Editorial group at Macmillan is on the front lines of the rapid changes in digital content in educational publishing and this is an opportunity to see what goes on firsthand. The intern will also help with administrative tasks (data entry, formatting, surveys, and archive organization) as needed.
Major responsibilities for the Media Editorial Intern include:
• Assisting with turnover of media and supplement content to production
• Researching competing products and tracking customer feedback to help with product development
• Performing administrative tasks such as copying, data entry, conducting reviews/surveys, and organizing product inventories
• Other tasks as necessary to the Media Editorial group in developing and publishing content to LaunchPad
Required Skills / Knowledge:
The Media Editorial Intern will need excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to manage multiple deadlines when working with different media editors. A proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Docs is required. Current college students with a major in psychology, sociology, or English is a plus.
