Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Interviews and collaborates with subject matter experts to create new and update existing operating procedures and related documentation such as software user guides and quick reference materials.
Identifies opportunities for improvement to existing procedures, training and related documentation.
Proof-reads and edits contributions from other teams and provides constructive feedback on grammar and spelling in a professional manner.
Adapts and/or reformats existing templates, samples and documentation into new deliverables.
May perform additional related duties as assigned.
Minimum job qualifications:
Level of Education: Bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in business, engineering, economics or other related discipline
Amount of Experience:
Broad background in utility operations or other highly regulated industries
5 or more years of experience with writing, editing, and/or managing documentation
Experience working across different lines of a business to assess the interdependent activities
Demonstrated ability to write clearly, concisely and accurately, translating technical information into simple-to-understand English
Experienced in performing business analysis of policies, procedures and training materials
Additional skills and abilities:
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience using SharePoint or equivalent document and content management system. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat is highly desired. Must be able to work effectively in a team environment as a facilitator and team member. Must be able to work with and lead cross-functional teams. Must be able to handle a dynamic and changing work environment, and work well independently. Excellent analytical, organization, verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated, problem solving skills and the ability to influence others without direct authority.
