Job Title Internship - News Photographer/Editor
This internship is for a Photographer who shoots and edits video of various news events and edits stories/pictures for daily news broadcasts. This position edits newscasts. This position shoots stories in a compelling and brand-focused way to attract the largest audience available to the station's newscasts. This position helps maintain operational functions of the editing and archive systems. This position coordinates photography hardware setup, operation and maintenance as required. The Editor/Photographer coordinates with the production of photography and distribution of digital content as required by photographer. In addition, this position: \r
• Edits newscasts \r
• Handles photography assignments. \r
• Completes photography assignments including, but not limited to, shooting and editing. \r
• Operates live trucks
Essential Job Functions
55% - Functions as an editor and photojournalist- edits and archives daily general assignments and shoots news as assigned.
25% - Maintains working knowledge of AVID software.
5% - Drives a news vehicle.
5% - Sets-up and operates ENG truck as assigned with complete knowledge of live truck safety procedures and issues.
10% - Processes documentation and digital images for import to Meredith Archive Library.
Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
College student or recent graduate who meets the academic eligibility requirements of the specific program.
Individual subject matter and skills will vary depending upon available placements.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to use a camera and edit video
Must possess a valid CT Driver's License and good driving record.
Ability to lift and carry 65-100 pounds.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
