Do you love strategic writing and editing? Can you decode business jargon and rewrite it into clear, digestible content? Are you able to edit documents quickly and accurately, while adhering to internal guidelines? Can you bring one-voice consistency and readability to a document pieced together by multiple authors? Are you a quick study who can pivot quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, high achieving environment? Then we're looking for talent like you to join our Pursuit Management Writing team!
Work you'll do
As an editor, you'll use your skills and experience to:
Review and edit proposals and supporting materials prepared for current and potential clients
Rewrite consultant-speak and business jargon into clear, consistent, and grammatically correct content
Edit with a high degree of accuracy on short deadlines, at times at night and on weekends
Communicate suggested edits and other changes to pursuit managers and graphic designers, confirming that changes are implemented properly and consistently
Research content and write supporting sections of proposals
Preserve the business pursuit strategy and maintain the writer's voice
Communicate with pursuit colleagues about the status of projects
Maintain and apply a thorough knowledge of Deloitte's brand standards and legal requirements for communications
Grow into editing and writing case studies, biographies, presentations, microsites, and video scripts tailored to a specific client and/or opportunity
Grow into interviewing senior team leaders to piece together content and tell compelling stories
Comprehend business strategies and issues affecting professional services
Collaborate with teams across different geographies in a virtual work environment
Understand the grammatical styles as outlined in The Chicago Manual of Style and help maintain Deloitte's Style Guide across all deliverables
Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in English, journalism, communications, humanities, liberal arts, or related disciplines
3-5 years of relevant experience, including remote/virtual work experience
Exceptional written and oral communication skills
Ability to quickly grasp specialist knowledge and turn it into a clear, concise written explanation
Strong executive presence
Agility and speed in executing strong writing
Intellectual curiosity and ability to get smart quick on a variety of topics
Ability to prioritize within a fast-paced, challenging, deadline-driven environment
Exceptional project management skills
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time
Travel up to 20% (While up to 20% travel is a requirement of the role, due to COVID-19, non-essential travel has been suspended until further notice.)
