We are seeking a dynamic and motivated sciencewriter\/editor to work with a team of editors, designers, social media managersand content publishing experts on behalf of our major science and technologyclients. This person will work with internal team members to execute acomprehensive editorial content strategy from ideation and creation throughflawless execution. An ideal candidate will have not only a passion of producing quality smart,funny and engaging stories on tight deadlines, but also have a deepunderstanding of the tools, platforms, and technologies to get it done. We\u2019relooking for someone in tune with emerging trends within digital and socialmedia, as well as understand the broader cultural shift in publishing andcontent marketing. What you\u2019ll do: Generate and help produce storypackages (including articles, imagery, social media content and more). Edit and help oversee editorialcalendars \u2014 both for the .com and social properties Edit stories from freelancers and others for publication on the web. Produce content in CMS. Manage assets across multiple channels and platforms. Manage analytics and reporting. Create and maintain style guides for tone and voice. Provide content syndication support and direction for all syndication priorities. Contribute stories ideas \u2013 from pitch to execution \u2013 for multiple digital platforms. Coordinate with other departments and teammates, such as art, media buying, social media and more How to Apply: \u25cfPlease submit brief cover letter,resume, and three (3) writing samples\u00a0 Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Ideally is enrolled in or has recently completed a science journalism MA program. Have up to 1 to 2 years editorial experience at a media or online publishing company Demonstrate a thorough understanding of web publishing: from structuring a website for organization of content to overseeing asset management; from editing copy to producing content on publishing platforms (WordPress, Expression Engine, etc.) Additional qualifications: Proven history of working under strict deadlines on a daily, weekly and monthly basis Have excellent editing, writing, and grammatical skills. Have a keen sense of news value and editorial judgment. Have experience writing, reporting and interviewing. Be full of creative story ideas and eager to execute on them; you\u2019re excited to find the right angle and execution for the story. Be able to write sharp, engaging copy on a variety of topics in a range of voices. Be interested in social media and exploring how a brand can be successful on social media platforms. Knowledge of multimedia storytelling through GIFS, video, infographics and other emerging social media platforms and assets. Possess superb execution and management skills; can juggle multiple projects on multiple deadlines. Show a clear ability to work autonomously, with solid decision-making skills and the ability to identify concerns and issues. Be active and passionate about digital culture and the evolving digital content space. Be a dynamic, hands-on, rubber-meets-road type that can organize and operate multi-faceted programs. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal team members across multiple levels.
