Candidate will work with producers, executives and on-air talent to help improve the brand performance of CBS News programs and provide high quality promotional content and tie-in opportunities for local newscasts and digital platforms.
Responsibilities include fostering the performance of CBS affiliates on-air promotion of all CBS News broadcasts and platforms including CBS This Morning, CBS Evening News, Weekend News, Face the Nation, CBS News Sunday Morning, Prime Time News Magazines (60 Minutes and 48 Hours) and CBSN.
Strengthen the rapport between CBS News and local news. Write, produce and edit daily promotional content for local news programs that ties-in with coverage on the various CBS News platforms.
Arrange, prepare and execute, from the network control room, appearances by CBS News anchors and reporters in local stations newscasts.
Manage production and develop content plan for major CBS Newspath projects. Promotional tie in updates to stations and manage social media communications for CBS Newspath.
Demonstrate ability to notice important news stories CBS affiliates are covering and develop strong relationships with them
Demonstrate ability to build and leverage relationships with stations and program producers using effective communication.
Preferably at least 3 years editorial experience working in production at either a local station or at network level or producing video news content for broadcast or digital platforms.
Must have strong journalistic and tease writing skills, research skills and editorial judgment.
Solid social media skills.
Proficiency in desktop non-linear editing, AVID or Adobe Premiere.
Proficiency in Word Press website publishing.
Must be willing to work in New York, NY
Must be willing and able to work flexible hours (including weekends), under tight deadline pressure, occasionally with little or no warning.
Control room experience preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a stressful, deadline driven environment where teamwork is essential.
Solid working knowledge of TV production.
Conversational Spanish skills a plus.
