Medical Editor/ Senior Editor - (Medical Communications)
My client a Medical Communications company is actively seeking an experienced Medical Editor/Sr Medical Editor. This position will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of written communications both internally and with clients.
Provide in-house editorial quality assurance
Edit, style, and submit journal articles and abstracts to medical journals and conference websites
Work closely with Medical Content Development (Medical Writers & Directors) & Project Management teams to ensure timely, accurate completion of all client deliverables
Effective ability to work independently
Edited, fact check and proofread scientific, clinical, and marketing documents
Attend planning meetings and coordinate with appropriate internal staff (scientific directors, project managers, and editorial team members) to ensure timely completion of client deliverables.
Example deliverables include journal articles, content for scientific, clinical, promotional & internal training and content for scientific / therapeutic advisory boards, PowerPoint slide decks, abstracts, manuscripts, business proposals, newsletters, etc.
Proficient in AMA Writing style
Adheres to PhRMA, FDA, OIG and ACCME guidelines
Ensuring correct grammar, spelling, usage, and adherence to AMA, agency, and client styles
Ensuring brand-specific style is consistent throughout jobs
Perform online research as necessary
Order references and manage reference database
Obtain and track permissions
Streamline process and procedure
Candidates must have the following:
A minimum of 4 or more years of experience in medical copy & content editing within a medical communications company.
Must have industry specific experience to be considered (Medical Education, Medical Communications, or Healthcare Communications etc.)
BA or BS Degree required ideally in related field.
Experience and understanding of medical terminology.
Knowledge and experience with AMA Style.
Strong project management skills.
Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-oriented environment.
Excellent Communication skills written and verbal.
