Profile

Overview
The Digital Engagement team, part of Communications & Marketing, leads social media, email, and other digital engagement initiatives for the Library. The Digital Content Editor writes and manages content for the Library's various digital platforms.
Principal Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Digital Engagement, the Digital Content Editor will:

Write compelling, action-oriented email and e-newsletter copy and subject lines 
Write copy for campaigns, webpages, blog posts, and other digital projects 
Contribute ideas and suggestions to cross-functional content and campaign brainstorming sessions 
Write, coordinate, and publish homepage features 
Coordinate digital signage 
Coordinate engagement campaigns 
Support paid social and search campaigns 
Report on success of digital campaigns 
Ensure voice and message consistency throughout digital properties; adhere to the Library's Writing Style Guide 
Support other digital communications needs

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree 
2-5 years experience writing copy for media, advocacy, campaigns, or fundraising

Minimum Qualifications

Understanding of best practices for email, social, and other digital writing
Excellent writing and editing skills 
Experience with blog or web editing and using web content management systems 
Experience writing compelling subject lines and headlines 
Basic familiarity with HTML
Attention to detail 
Timeliness and ability to meet tight deadlines 
Enthusiasm for books, reading, and libraries
Excellent writing and editing skills
Experience managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment 
Applicants should have experience managing projects, from brainstorming to planning to content creation to publishing to reporting

Preferred Qualifications

HTML and CSS experience preferred  
Image resizing/editing skills preferred 
Experience with Google Analytics, other digital metrics to track success
