The Content Writer and Editor position is a hugely important role in the Alamo Drafthouse Marketing Department that owns and drives the production flow of Alamo Drafthouse’s written content.
That means a lot of writing, editing, and thinking about movies and Alamo Drafthouse. You’ll oversee drafthouse.com pages that describe and sell films, targeted email copy, blog posts that promote events or initiatives, promotional copy used in print, digital advertising, social media, and so much else.
Oversee the production of all of Alamo Drafthouse’s copy needs, using (and growing) a stable of freelance copywriters and editors.
Maintain and manage Alamo Drafthouse’s constantly shifting editorial calendar.
Work with the wider marketing, programming and analytics teams on tuning content to the right audience on the right channels.
Maintain Alamo Drafthouse’s brand voice in every piece of media we create.
2 years of experience as an editorial coordinator, copy editor, or content editor is required.
You sweat the small stuff and give a damn about the work you produce.
You’ve got incredibly strong proofreading skills.
You’ve got excellent organizational and time management capabilities, meaning you can multitask under absurd deadlines.
We’re a movie theater, so an intuitive love and knowledge of movies and pop culture is required. You don’t need to be up on everything there is to know about Krzysztof Kieślowski’s B-sides, but you should know more than the average bear.
Experience in producing advertising copy is preferred (i.e. campaign headlines, taglines, Facebook ads).
Experience with writing press releases, movie reviews, video or radio advertisements or social media would be helpful, but not required.
