Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining an effective video editing process that ensures accurate and timely completion of requested work. Assembles the final product as a sequence consisting of shots from the raw camera footage, dialogue, sound effects and graphics. Implements process improvements to facilitate greater efficiencies. Interfaces with other members of the team in scheduling work and gathering requirements to ensure satisfaction. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Core Responsibilities


Creates a rough cut of the program/film and determines the exact cutting for the next and final stages; re-orders and tweaks the content to ensure the logical sequencing and smooth running of the film/video.

Works closely with producers and clients to meet final project expectations including setting and adhering to project timelines and budget.

Works on project teams using enterprise and stand-alone production systems common in the industry.

Utilizes understanding of creative objectives combined with independent creative judgment to render a high quality finished product.

Edits video and sound using an editing system. Evaluates and selects scenes for dramatic and entertainment qualities and story continuity. Uses alternative equipment and configurations to obtain specialized effects.

Implements solutions with excellent editorial judgment that requires little to no redirection.

Incorporates new and innovative editing techniques.

Implements assigned projects independently with minimal guidance from management. Determines methods and procedures on new assignments.

Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.

Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Salary:

Pay Range: $94,936.99 - $142,405.48
